As my dear friends at She Recovers say – we are all recovering from something – grief, alcohol, divorce, childhood trauma, drugs, disordered eating, fire-related trauma… the list goes on. Recovery from addiction and trauma of any kind requires healing for the mind, body, and spirit. In this class, we will focus on creating a safe space for you to arrive and and just BE. By linking breath and movement, we will allow our thoughts and emotions to rise up and then watch as they dissipate. This will be an incredibly powerful way to open up the recovery process for oneself.
This five-week series will be themed around the chakras and how our chakras line up in our life. Each week we will focus on one or two different chakras; we will meditate, practice vinyasa flow yoga and discuss how each of the chakras help balance our life forces and how this can assist in recovery. We will also spend time focusing on how you can build your own “toolbox” to help support your recovery. You do not need to attend all 5 classes - come to one or come to all, it's really up to you.
The yoga practice is beginner-level, but yogis of any level are welcome! I invite you to come as you are with a beginner’s mind and an open-heart. Try easy, you never know, it might surprise you. Namaste.
